3D-printing has once again aced a technological frontier. And this time, it isn’t just shoes, apparels or robotics. With the aid of 3D-printing, Aurora Flight Sciences and Stratasys Ltd have developed a drone, which is reportedly the fastest and most complex 3D-printed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ever flown. With all these superlatives attributing this drone, it made a star debut at Dubai Airshow 2015.

This design brings an end to Real Madrid’s search for a comprehensive corporate headquarter. The winning proposal for the design competition was selected for the unique balance between its futuristic outlook and viability. This entry comes from the studio of Rafael de La-Hoz, along with inputs from a building company Ferrovial Agroman. A building located right within the city of Valdebebas, Madrid; ‘Ciudad Realmadrid’ would encompass an area of 8,000 square meters once constructed.
‘Soft in the Middle’ presents a unique concept for CADE (Centre for Architecture, Design and Education) and CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) headquarters. Being one of the winning entries of ChiDesign competition (organised by Chicago Architecture Foundation) , this proposal by Atelier 2B (Yewon Ji, Nicolas Lee and Ryan Otterson) proposes a facility with flexible and collaborative core.
“Robots are becoming omnipresent in our lives,” says Rob Scharff, who created a 3D-printed robotic hand, that can actually shake hands with humans. And when we say ‘shake hands’, this happens through the robot’s own tactile feedback, and not some remote operated input. A graduate from Delft University of Technology, Scharff has been working on a research project called ‘Soft Robotics’, which essentially talks about upgrading elementary robotics to an advanced hybridized technology, which responds to human stimulus.
‘ Pop-up Building Milan ’ is an artistic interpretation of art, culture and architecture of Milan, trifling across the walls of a Milanese courtyard. A composition created with unconventional materials such as cardboard, adhesive tapes, varnish, cartons and zip ties, blithely peaking meaning and understanding of a place. Daniel González, an Argentinian contemporary artist, hereby simplifies the entire city of Milan into a few components of rudimentary shapes and lucid forms.
Some of the most important spaces in the history of mankind lie within a few exquisite specimens of sacred architecture. And how can one forget churches, when the discussion is about sacred spaces.
